Artist Bio, Lisa Clough "Lachri" Lisa is a self taught Artist from Claremont California. Growing up near the ocean, she was always interested in painting marine life. Becoming a professional artist had never occurred to her until her "I can do that better" attitude got the best of her when at the beach one day. She saw another marine artist's work and was shocked that someone doing work at that level was selling paintings for the price she had displayed. Now 19 years old, Lisa was determined that she could make this new career choice work. Within two years Lisa's work was being displayed in local animal hospitals, coffee shops, and in Angels Galleria in the Pomona Arts colony. In 1999 Lisa began teaching painting at Michael's Arts and Crafts stores in Southern California. By 2001 she had become a full time artist selling her work at art festivals and online in addition to teaching her growing painting classes. In September of 2001 she won the Almeda Heims award of excellence at the annual Catalina Island Arts Festival for her painting "The Return to Avalon". Lisa has sold original works and prints to buyers around the world. Her work has been used for the cover of "Awake with angels EP" By Christian Ross, for the cover of the self titled cd "Giant of the Mountain", for the website art and the cover of the upcoming CD cover for the Dallas band Stereo Child, and the cover of the book "God's riches at Christ's Expense" by Ronnie Daniels. Her works are displayed in several businesses including two of her paintings at Baylor Hospital in North Texas. Not limited to Fine Art, Lisa also is the violinist for Stereo Child. Her time is split between music, her own paintings, and teaching Fine Art out of Hobby Lobby in Frisco TX, and both instructing classes and designing several of the paintings painted by students at Lets Art Party in Plano TX.
